Mercedes Baker, a native of Tennessee, graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2018, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in Religious Studies. She recently earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Nashville School of Law in May 2025, where she served as an Honor Council Representative and was recognized on the Dean's List.
While pursuing her degree, she was approved by the Tennessee Supreme Court to practice under a Rule 7 Limited License, which allowed her to provide estate planning services to clients of Habitat for Humanity. She is also a Tennessee Supreme Court listed Rule 31 Civil Mediator, further expanding her ability to serve clients effectively.
Before joining Glenn Injury Law, Mercedes gained valuable experience as an estate planning law clerk, assisting individuals with wills, trusts, asset protection, and premarital planning. Her hands-on experience includes drafting legal documents such as powers of attorney, revocable and irrevocable trusts, deeds, and prenuptial agreements.
Outside of work, Mercedes serves as a committee member with Harpeth Conservancy, where she supports clean water initiatives for rivers in Tennessee. She also enjoys creating impasto-style paintings, thrifting, and exploring Nashville’s many local offerings.
